Description

Vibrant original art, signed and editioned, ready to frame.

Congo, Cameroon or Ivory Coast overstamped prints of stamps. The first postage stamps for the colonies were overprints issued in 1891 on the generic French stamps. A pictorial series followed in 1900; it’s images included a leopard (which is used in these pieces), Bakalois woman, and a coconut grove, printed in pairs of colours, some rather garish. Choose one or hang them as a group.

Multi-coloured linocut of enlarged postage stamps created with vibrant colours. These prints come signed, titled, in a small edition. All prints are completed on A2 (approx. 30cm x 21cm) 140gsm cream paper using fade resistant inks. They are all manually hand printed, embossed and come backed on cardboard and sealed in a cellophane slip. Delivery – National tracked, International tracked and signed, shipped from UK.
